A 2026 graduate of Syracuse University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Matthew has developed a strong understanding of government, public policy, legal systems, and the institutions that shape society. His academic experience emphasized critical thinking, research, analytical reasoning, and effective communication—skills that translate directly to serving clients in a legal environment. Through his coursework and experiences at Syracuse University, he cultivated a passion for helping others navigate complex issues and find practical solutions to their challenges.

Background

Prior to joining Westfall Law, Matthew Sweeney gained valuable client-service experience assisting individuals with a wide range of needs. He regularly communicated with clients, answered phone calls, addressed questions, and helped ensure that each person received attentive and professional support. His ability to listen carefully, communicate clearly, and provide exceptional service allows him to be a trusted point of contact for clients throughout their legal journey.

Outside the Office

Outside of work, Matthew Sweeney is an accomplished endurance athlete, becoming a six-time marathon finisher and three-time Ironman finisher in his first two years of training. His dedication to the Ironman Global Series has earned him recognition on both the national and international stage, ranking 8th in the United States and 23rd in the world in his age group. The discipline, resilience, and commitment required to compete at an elite level are qualities he brings to his professional role each day. Whether training, competing, or pursuing new challenges, he is driven by a mindset of continuous improvement and perseverance.
