Alfred Bruno brings more than 25 years of litigation, transactional, and advisory experience to Westfall Law. His practice spans a wide range of areas, including business law, estate planning and probate, real estate, employment law, education law, and general civil litigation. Al has represented individuals, municipalities, corporations, and nonprofit organizations across state and federal forums, and is known for delivering clear, practical guidance grounded in deep legal knowledge.

Background
Al is a Connecticut native and graduate of the Hopkins School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Bates College, where he was elected to the President’s Student Advisory Committee and competed as an NCAA football player. He went on to earn his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he received multiple honors, including the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award in Trial Practice, the Outstanding Legal Scholarship Award, and the Service to the Community Award. He was also selected to join the Moot Court Honor Society.
Al’s early dedication to service and leadership extended beyond academics. For over three decades, he has volunteered as a Bates Alumni-in-Admissions interviewer, taught as a Junior Achievement classroom instructor, and led numerous youth and school-based organizations. His commitment to ethical leadership and informed decision-making is reflected in both his legal work and community service.
Experience
Al’s legal career has spanned private practice, public sector work, and in-house advisory roles. He has represented clients before all levels of Connecticut state court—including the Supreme and Appellate Courts—as well as in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. He is well-versed in a broad range of civil statutes and regulatory frameworks, including the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Title IX, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

He is a skilled negotiator and trusted advisor, known for his clarity, persistence, and ability to find practical solutions in complex matters.
Leadership & Community Involvement
Al has served as the Deputy First Selectperson of the Town of Seymour for seven elected terms. He currently serves on Seymour’s Board of Ethics and has previously served on the Public Works Board and the Tax Incentive Committee. His civic engagement also includes more than a decade as President of the Seymour Soccer Association and leadership roles in local athletic booster clubs. In 2023, he was honored with the John J. Gallagher Memorial Athletic Award from the Seymour Board of Education.
